Top Five Gaming Mice to Buy 2015
The Best Gaming Mouse Poll
What mouse do you use / recommend?
Gaming hardware never stops innovating.
Updating you about the latest and greatest gaming mice is a never ending job. A gaming mouse is a tool, and you always want to bring the right tool to the job.
Luckily I'm familiar enough with the products as I use them every day, and as it's been two years since I last wrote to you (where I delve more of the advantages a quality gaming mouse provide), I'm going to get right into the juicy bits.
It's time to bring you the latest top five gaming mice of 2015.
1. Logitech G502 Proteus Core
A new mouse has been crowned in 2015, and it's definitely my winner this time around. Unavailable in 2013 when I last wrote the article the Logitech G502 boasts an intuitive, comfortable design with new ergonomics over its tried and tested previous logitech mice.
It's a well rounded mouse that will excel for almost any game unless you are looking for a mouse with over 11 programmable buttons.
The G502 has a textured thumb grip and large sensibly spaced buttons. It gives you a lot of options without over cluttering your mouse with side buttons causing random misfires or discomfort. Perfectly suited for claw grip users, it's still comfortable for a basic over the top palm grip.
The G502 comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect in the latest line of technology including customizable magnetic weights, mechanical micro-switches, braided cabling, on the fly dpi switch toggling, and deep customization from the 11 programmable macros to the pulsing of the light.
The dpi ranges from 200 up to an unprecedented 12,000 so you can fine tune just how much control you desire, and profile that to any particular game you with to play. The middle dpi setting feels great though right out of the box.
You can find it on sale at Amazon currently for $61.43.
2. Razer Naga Epic Chroma
For those MMO players who need a mouse with several extra inputs, passing up 2013's selection of the Logitech G600 enters Razer's contender.
Featuring a total of 19 buttons it's the highest performing MMO mouse tested this year with the flexibility to be offered in left and right handed options. Boasting gaming-grade wireless technology you have a response rate of 1 ms which is basically negligible. If the battery starts running low you can plug it into a USB port and continue to use it.
The Razer Naga Epic Chroma also features an incredible range of color customization hence the name chroma with a choice of 16.8 million choices.
3. Logitech 602 Wireless Gaming Mouse
If you aren't keen on going with the Logitech 502 Proteus and still want something well rounded, they have a later offering, the new 602 wireless gaming mouse.
It's a little heavier but it's comfortable and durable. The best feature on this mouse is the battery life - 250 hours! That's about 8x longer than your typical wireless gaming mice. And there's nothing worse than running out of juice when things are just getting heated up. If the freedom of mobility is important to you this is the mouse for you.
4. Corsair Vengeance M65 FPS Mouse
Again, for FPS this mouse defends its spot on the list. Complete with its dedicated sniper button which lets you switch to a slow moving but incredibly accurate shot on the fly, it's got all you could want for the simplicity of a FPS game. No extra buttons to get in your way, aluminum body design, custom weights if you want to make it heavier, and up to 8200 dpi to mess with.
5. Roccat Kova
The Roccat Kova is a new mouse from Roccat.
The Kone won best mouse in my 2013 review, but the Kova is a new creation and if you are left-handed it's my #1 recommendation for you just over the Taipan. While the Taipan is great ambidextrous mouse the Kova is a fully featured mouse designed for south-paws. Dpi selection and seven programmable buttons deliver you the features you need while taking the comfort of the design to the next level.
